About Me
In the past several years, Cari has hunted Jack the Ripper, butled in a Play that went Wrong, and pirated on the waters off the coast of Boston, among other theatrical adventures. Cari's 14 years of classical dance training often comes in handy onstage, as does her recent SAFD certification in stage combat.
By night an avid thespian, by day Cari is an English professor. She particularly enjoys teaching and studying fairy tales, adaptations across American media, and how stage combat contributes to narratives.

Macbeth
Aug 9-31, 2025
Come audition for our summer production of Macbeth!
Auditions will be held at Guild Church from 6 - 10 pm. Sign up for a one-hour time slot.
This will be an action-packed show, set in a barbaric society where might makes right. All actors should be prepared for extensive fight choreography and practice; Macbeth, Lady Macbeth, Macduff, and Lady Macduff will also do some on-stage kissing and physical intimacy, which will be choreographed with intimacy coordination best practices. Cast may also be asked to help as necessary (and as they are able) with postering, costume construction, prop finding, and the like.
Stipends: Actors will be offered a stipend of $100.

SAFD certification
Summer 2024
This summer, I had the pleasure and honor of attending the 3-week SAFD (Society of American Fight Directors) actor combatant training workshop in Ruston, LA.
I studied 30 hours of two-handed sword, 30 hours of rapier & dagger, 30 hours of unarmed combat, as well as a splash (about 15 hours) of knife with some of the best (and loveliest) people in the business. And I'm pleased to report that I passed my tests and am now a certified Actor Combatant with SAFD!
